About: Convention Details

The Convention will begin on June 7 with an Evening Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony. The rest of the week will include morning and afternoon technical sessions , as well as an Optional Tours Day on June 10.  It will conclude with a Banquet and Closing Ceremony on Friday, June 12.

The 2015 Convention includes:

  1. Early Stage Researcher Day: Students and recent graduates will present their research, attend a mini-workshop, and participate in the Student Poster Competition.
  2. IUFRO 5.10 Forest Products Marketing and Business Management: The IUFRO 5.10.00 Forest Products Marketing and Business Management Research Group will meet in an all-day session on June 12.

Mini-workshops

Publishing in Wood & Fiber Science
This mini-workshop, jointly led by Dr. Jeff Morrell (Oregon State University), Dr. Terry Connors (University of Kentucky), and Dr. Mike Barnes (Mississippi State University), is designed to help participants effectively create manuscripts for Wood & Fiber Science and other technically oriented refereed journals. The instructor team has published numerous articles in Wood & Fiber Science and Mike Barnes is the current Editor of the Journal.

Publishing in Bio-Products Business
This mini-workshop, jointly led by Dr. Robert Kozak and Dr. Rajat Panwar (University of British Columbia), is designed to help participants effectively create manuscripts for Bio-Products Business and other social science journals. The workshop includes a hands-on session in which participants can bring their evolving manuscripts and discuss possible directions they may take. Bio-Products Business is the renamed Journal of Forest Products Business Research. Dr. Panwar is the current Editor of Bio-Products Business and Dr. Kozak is a former Editor and currently serves on the Editorial Board.

With the convention being held in a National Park, the chance to enjoy some of the beautiful surroundings can't be overlooked. The convention will not have an official "industry tour" day, but will include two half-day sessions during the week to enjoy what the Grand Tetons have to offer.
